This is an introductory course in which students will learn to make their own ceramic tiles for inclusion in interior mosaic projects or as individual art tiles. Discussion and demonstration will include design, working with wet clay, slab rolling and cutting techniques, surface decoration, relief and glazing.
No prior knowledge of tile making or ceramics necessary. Materials fees are payable to instructor first day of class. Continuing students welcome.
Students will design and produce their own set of ceramic tiles from start to finish using a variety of techniques.
