Drawing For Mosaic Artists

Instructor: Rachel Rodi

Join Rachel Rodi, mosaic artist and art instructor, in this introductory drawing course for anyone who wants to learn how to draw or who wants to brush up on their drawing skills. Drawing for Mosaic Artists will cover the use of lines and angles, negative and positive space, contour, perspective, depth creation, and how to enlarge drawings to scale by hand. Additional topics will include basic design concepts such as overall page composition, focal point and scale. Along the way, these drawing techniques will be related to mosaic art design applications for different sizes, shapes and dimensions.

From these skills, students will learn in a positive and supportive environment to sketch out realistic, imaginative or abstract drawings and translate them into their mosaic designs. In addition, students in this mosaic art class will be given handouts with samples of design and drawing exercises.
