New Orleans School of Glass and Printmaking is up and running again! NOSG is proud to welcome mosaic artist Laurel True back to New Orleans to teach a three-day glass mosaic intensive. Come on back to New Orleans and help celebrate the renewal of this great creative center in our country.

In this fun and informative course, students will learn about the properties of glass, enjoy a complete review of glass materials available for mosaics including vitreous and stained glass, glass tile, smalti, dichroic and fusable glass, mirror and more. Techniques demonstrated will include glass on glass techniques, collage under glass, indirect techniques and direct mosaic application. Lecture and demonstration will include hands on instruction on tool use for scoring, cutting, breaking and making specific shapes and cuts for mosaic.

Instructor will touch on various setting styles, fitting techniques, design inspiration and design transfer and work with students individually as they design and create a mosaic appropriate to their skill level to take home.

Class also includes full discussion of appropriate substrates, adhesives, grouting and finishing techniques. Students will make a glass mosaic piece for interior display.
