In this two-day workshop students will learn how to use fiberglass mesh and concrete applied to Styrofoam shapes to create lightweight concrete sculptures as a base for mosaics.

Design and display techniques will be presented and foam carving tools and their uses will be demonstrated. Students will learn how to carve their own sculptural forms out of Styrofoam and/or assemble armatures out of everyday, easy to find objects. Students will create two small to medium sized sculptures ready for mosaic application at home and to be displayed outdoors. This method is easy to learn, easy to implement and uses readily available materials. Class will include lecture, demonstration and lots of hand-on work time. Prepare to work outside and to get messy and have fun! No experience necessary.
