What a fabulous way to honor a beloved pet!

In this course, students will create a realistic, texture rich and colorful 12"x12" mosaic portrait made with ceramic and glass. Each student's portrait is based on a photograph and is guaranteed to look very much like the subject! Class will include lecture and demonstration on how to translate a photo into a design for mosaics, use of mosaic tools and techniques.

This course is designed for the beginning or continuing mosaic student. No mosaic experience necessary. Instructor will work with each student to help him or her develop a project suited to their skill level.

All materials will be provided. Additionally (and optional), students may bring in any special trinkets or items of significance to include in their mosaic. Examples include an old pet tag, piece of a broken dog dish or fine china shard, a small paper or photo image to put under glass, beads, bling and misc ephemera.

Students will need to email a photo of their pet to Delaine (instructor) prior to the workshop. The general quality of the photo is not important, however a photo that shows good detail in the pet's face is ideal. Profile angles are easier.

Please email pet's photo at least one week prior to class, to: delaine@delainemosaic.com.
