This is an 8 session, extended mosaic study course in which students will design and create a mosaic tabletop for interior use. Class will include lecture and demonstration on design for mosaic furniture, appropriate substrates, fixatives, tool use, cutting and shaping techniques, setting techniques and lay patterns, grouting and finishing. Students will be given resources for continued mosaic study on their own upon completion of this course.
Some homework may be involved. This course is designed for the beginning or continuing mosaic student. Instructor will work with each student to help him or her develop a design suited to each student's individual skill/ experience level.
Each student will take home a completed, 24" diameter (provided) mosaic tabletop. Resources will be given for table legs/ bases in class.
