Learn the basics of working with smalti in this special one-day intensive.
Taught by Russian born mosaic master Dmitry Grudsky, this one day intensive workshop offers an opportunity to explore the beauty of this ancient, traditional material by teaching students how to cut and set smalti, use tools such as a hummer and hardie as well as the more contemporary wheeled cutters to create beautiful effects with this unique, light catching material.
Students will design a simple, geometric smalti mosaic using a Smalti Starter pack (provided).
Each student will create a 6"x 6" mosaic panel to take home.
