Veteran Colorist and Mosaic Artist, Ellen Blakeley, guides students into the wide world of color with her "no fear" approach to learning about, using and creating color.

Ellen welcomes both seasoned mosaic artists and total beginners to join in the fun in this playful and experimental class that will greatly enhance how they use color in their own mosaic and art projects.

Students will expand their color horizons, learn about how color works, how to mix colors, color values, hues and tones, warm and cool colors and more.

Instructor will demonstrate basic color mixing and color combinations and guide students in working directly with colored paints and pigments. The instructor will explain the basic color wheel and how it applies to mosaic work.

This is a wonderful opportunity to jump into the wonderful and expansive world of color and have a great time in the process. No experience is necessary. All exercises are designed to open the mind and help students "make friends with color". Students will come away with a greater knowledge of color, how ot think about it, design with color and apply it to their future projects.

All materials provided. Bring or wear a work shirt and prepare to play!

Experimentation will be done on paper and students will complete and take home a three dimensional painted color project.
