Mosaic Jewelry

Instructor: Glynnis Kaye

Create a wearable work of art just in time for the holidays or as a gift for yourself. Mosaic artist and IMA resident artist Glynnis Kaye will take students through skilled use of wheel nippers and a glass grinder to shape tiny pieces of stained glass, mirror, and tiny tile and turn them into beautiful mosaic jewelry. Pre-cut micro-ceramic tile and millefiori will also be on hand for students to incorporate into one-of-a-kind creations.

All level of mosaic artists are welcome. Instructor will discuss designing grouted and un-grouted pieces. Lecture will include a grout demo for students to grout pieces at home. Materials provided include tesserae, jewelry bases and chains to complete two pieces of mosaic jewelry. Additional jewelry bases available for purchase.
