Animated Mosaics

Instructor: Martin Cheek

IMA is excited to welcome UK mosaic artist and author Martin Cheek for a unique class that will help bring your mosaics to life! An excellent class for beginning and continuing students to expand existing skills and further develop creativity with smalti, millefiori and Martin's famous glass fusions.

As a unique feature, Martin will pre-make bespoke fusions especially for class participants to use in their project. These special fusions can include designs such as fish fins, butterfly wings, and much more. Glass fusion design images and dimensions must be emailed to Martin no later than January 20 to be available in class.

Class will include a digital presentation and, using examples of his own work, Martin will demonstrate how smalti, millefiori and glass fusions can be incorporated into your own mosaics for great effect. Instructor will offer suggestions on design, layout and application of the materials to students' artwork.

Materials fee covers smalti, millefiori and substrates. Students pay instructor directly for any glass fusions.
