Institute of Mosaic Art and Jingletown in the news

Laurel's Heart
Laurel's heart for Hearts and Heros
KRON 4 News did a feature story on the Oakland neighborhood that IMA is located in— Jingletown. Jinglteown is an historic neighborhood brimming with artists and thriving businesses and reporter Jeff Pierce walked around with IMA director Laurel True to get a feel for how the neighborhood is changing and growing in exciting ways.

Also in the news was Laurel's glass mosaic heart, created for San Francisco General Foundation's Hearts and Heros fundraiser. Twelve artists were asked to create a mini version of the original hearts forms and these will be auctioned off to raise funds for hospital programming. Laurel's heart was shown on Fox News- Channel 2 and is on temporary display in the window of Levi's on Union Square.
