Mosaics are becoming an international craze and fascination. Exhibits are cropping up, articles and features are appearing in the press and there is a surge of excitement about mosaics.
Signups for our classes at IMA are strong even in this economy and we attribute this to the special character and beauty of mosaics and the mosaic making process.
Thank you for your continued support of the mosaic arts. We would not be here without you!
Check your mailbox for our newest print schedule, loaded with diverse programming taught by our superstar professional team and internationally acclaimed Visiting Instructors.
This month we hosted Visiting Instructors Laurie Mika and Isaiah Zagar who both taught wonderful classes to excited students at IMA!
Other Visiting Artists coming from afar this spring include: Sophie Druin (Canada), Sherri Warner Hunter (Tennessee), Brent Sumner (New Zealand), Ellen Blakeley and Laurel Skye (Northern Cali) and Sonia King (Dallas).

The Future is NOW
Work by Jeannie Houston Antes
Mixed media mosaics that explore themes like creation, love, passion and fate.
The combined desire to build things and tell stories about her experiences have come together in the form of Jeannie's mosaic assemblages. Using found objects, glass, and jewelry, broken ceramics, photos, bottle caps and typefaces, Jeannie creates a visual narrative about her world.
Randi Casenza
12" x 12" x 12: A Year in Mosaics
"This series began almost as a spiritual discipline, a desire to make a commitment for one year and see it through."
Mosaic artist and longtime IMA student Randi Casenza created one mosaic a month during the year 2008, inspired by her life. This visual journal is a compelling example of the creative process unfolding and a showcase of mosaic methods and materials.
