Words from Randi...

"Ive been an artist all my life. I didnt call myself that until fairly recently. Myartistic expression, from the time I dropped out of Art College in the 70s until now, has been relegated to evenings, weekends and holidays. Ive experimented with batik, sewing, needle arts, beading, painting, mask making, ceramics, papier mache and pretty much anything that could be fabricated, embellished or otherwise transformed in some way. Sponsor a Gear for Artist Todd Blair

Todd Blair Oakland metal artist, instructor, public artist and longtime friend of IMA director Laurel True was involved in a tragic art accident last fall, which has left him recovering from a traumatic brain injury.

Benefit for Todd Blair

Bay Area Artists and loved ones have banded together to do a large kinetic sculptural wall made up of 25 individual gears, each to be decorated by a different artist. We are seeking sponsorship for each gear in an effort to raise funds to help sustain Todd and his wife financially during this difficult period.

Laurel True will be adorning a 24" gear with glass and asphalt mosaic.

The gears will be displayed at Rhythmix Cultural Works in Alameda, CA on July 20th as part of a benefit event.
