Irish ceramicist Aileen Barr and mosaic artist Colette Crutcher will give a presentation on their recently completed mosaic steps project. Located in SF's Sunset District, the steps rise 80 feet up from the sidewalk in a swirling extravaganza of mosaic, glass, mirror and handmade tile. Hear how a neighborhood group of dedicated volunteers came up with the original idea, and how the artists transformed it into a reality!
Come meet the artists at IMA on Friday, December 2nd and hear about their two-year process of creation.

World renowned mosaic artist, scholar and author of Mosaic Techniques and Traditions, Sonia King will lecture on and present slides of mosaic art from around the world in her much acclaimed slide presentation. As Sonia says, this show will include, “eye candy” from ancient to contemporary mosaics. Don't miss this opportunity to see this ground breaking collection of mosaic art from across the planet by master mosaic artist and world traveler Sonia King.
This lecture is in conjunction with Sonia's three day Advanced Mosaic Workshop at Institute of Mosaic Art.
