Our grand opening party on September 24th was a great success! Many of you were here with us to celebrate and we thank you for your support. If you couldn't make it...our doors are always open... come by any time! Many thanks, too to all those who contributed not just to help pull off an awesome party but also to help us create Institute of Mosaic Art. We could not do it without all of you! It was a beautiful night. Outside there was live music and dancing while inside the student and faculty exhibits represented the amazing talent in our community.

Some of the most beautiful student
work has come out of this popular class
This in-depth course focuses on stone-marble and travertine-mosaics and covers the history of mosaics, traditional and contemporary cutting tools, traditional lay patterns and designs and how they can be used in contemporary contexts. The course will introduce students to traditional mosaic "rules" and how to combine this knowledge with their own creative styles. Student will receive individualized instruction for use of hammer and hardie, experiment with square-set lay patterns, copy an ancient mosaic design and learn how to design and create at least one traditional style mosaic of their own.
