SPOTLIGHT ON VISITING ARTISTS |

This is most likely the only west coast opportunity to study with this master visionary and creator of monumental mosaic mural and environments for a long time.
In this very hands on workshop, veteran and visionary mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar will lead students through a journey of monumental mosaic creation. Students will learn how to cut mirror strips to form giant curls, how to break tile, how to mix colored cement and grout with a tie-dye of swirling colors, all from a master who has been covering facades, buildings, walls, floors ceilings and more for 30 years.

Learn how to make large-scale sculptural
mosaic forms!
Internationally acclaimed sculptor, mosaic artist and visionary Donna Billick will lead students through a week of project conceptualization and creation with concrete, mosaic, ceramic and more.
Students will explore sculptural constructions using traditional and unorthodox strategies of assembly. Piece by piece, we will design, fabricate and surface large- scale constructions using cement, wire, clay, styrofoam, and pre fabricated elements to create a completed mosaic form. Traditional mosaic surfaces will be molded and mortared to these sculptural creations in the course of this five day workshop.
